Following the afternoon concert, awards and trophies for the top three in instrumental combo and vocal soloist, as well as third place in each division, will be presented. The top two of each band and choir division will compete in evening finals. Finals competition will begin at 7pm. Bands will perform two musical selections at finals. One new piece not performed during preliminary competition must be performed for finals, with the exception of middle and junior high schools. Failure to perform a new sele Instrumental jazz ensembles must have a minimum of 10 performers and no more than 25 performers on stage during any one chart. Each ensemble is allowed 25 minutes which includes performance and clinic time. Exceeding this time limit will result in score penalization. Personnel cannot be repeated in #1 and #2 groups on the same instrument.ction in the finals will result in a second place finish. Finals will begin with middle school groups performing first, after which their divisions first and second place trophies will be presented. Trophies for all high school groups will be presented after all high school ensembles and choirs have performed. One Outstanding Instrumental Soloist trophy and one Outstanding Vocal Soloist trophy will be awarded, based upon evening competition. Additional instrumental and vocal soloist awards will be presented based on preliminary performances.
